LabRatz Science Club offers a creative, hands-on approach to teaching young students about science’s biggest questions. We provide insight into all the major fields of science with emphasis on creativity and individual discovery. Students are encouraged to reach conclusions on their own and are given opportunities to apply the scientific principles they learn to both real and imagined scenarios. Classes are designed to stimulate a multi-sensory learning experience, prompted by carefully presented questions from the instructor (audio), detailed lab manuals (visual) and first-hand experimentation (tactile).

LabRatz Science Club is meant to compliment the students’ school science curriculum by building on what they already know. Participation in LabRatz Science Club increases a student’s likelihood of comprehending and retaining information through hands-on participation and guided experimentation. Our unique presentation of the material does not pressure students to memorize facts, but instead encourages them to understand ideas and how they pertain to the world. This, along with a small group environment, increases the amount of individual attention paid to each student’s interests and inquiries. It is our goal to give students a perspective of science that promotes curiosity, problem-solving, and discovery — characteristics that can be applied throughout life.

Choose from any one of our pre-existing programs, or let us custom design a program to fit the specific needs of your school or group.

After School Science Club – By far the after school club is the most popular Lab Ratz program.  This program comes to your school at absolutely no cost to the district.  The school need only provide enough classroom (or other) space to accommodate the students that enroll, and access to water and restrooms.  The Lab Ratz bring the rest.  All of the top-notch instructors needed to maintain a low instructor to student ratio, all materials needed for each awesome lesson and activity – even cleaning supplies – are included while no additional time or resources are required from district staff.  Getting started is incredibly easy.

Additionally, each year every participant recieves a T-shirt.  All students are eligible to participate.  he cost is covered by the families of those who choose to sign up.  Financial assistance is available for those who qualify.  Lesson topics can be chosen by the faculty/staff or the school or we can follow our typical after school program topic schedule (see "programs").  And, whever you schedule your after school science club, you may also schedule a free 40 minute kick-off assembly for the whole school at no cost.  Call us at 412.965.3497 for more information or contact us via the "contact" section of the site to set up an informative meeting or to request and information packet!

Classroom Visits and Custom Programs – These programs are for groups varying in size from a single classroom to the entire student body.  We can design a program to correspond to the topics being covered in your science classes or to add another exciting dimension to your Science Olympiad.  Prices vary with group size, program length and topics covered.  Call us at 412.965.3497 or use the "contact" link for more information!

Assemblies – Our assemblies are as exciting and informative as all of our other programs, just on a larger scale.  Entertain and inspire the entire student population by choosing from one of our pre-existing assemly programs, or, commission one of your own!  If you are looking to both add to your after-school programming and to offer an amazing assembly, why not schedule both together?  When you bring the Lab Ratz Science Club after school program to your school you get a free 60 minute assembly with it.
