Cancellation Policy

It is the policy of Tal-Million Laboratories, Ltd., providers of Lab Ratz Science Club, that all club sessions cancelled, due to weather related or other unforeseen school closings, be made up at the end of the program. If a club meeting is cancelled the program will continue for an additional week to make up the cancelled session. All cancelled club meetings will be made up by lengthening the duration of the program in this manner

Dismissal Policy

It is the policy of Tal-Million Laboratories, Ltd., providers of Lab Ratz Science Club that children be dismissed from after-school programs only to a parent or guardian, or other adult. Students will not be permitted by staff members to leave the building hosting the program until an adult has picked them up. Students will not be permitted to meet parents outside unless accompanied by a staff member or supervisor. When picking up children after a program, parents must come in to the building to receive their child/children. Children who are to be picked up by an adult other than their legal parent/guardian should bring a note requesting that they be released to an adult other than their legal parent/guardian. The only exception to this will be made for students who are to walk home and are registered with their school as ‘walkers’ or who have a note from their legal parent/guardian requesting that they walk home.
Additionally, we are in no way a substitute for child care. Parents are expected to be on time for pick up. Our instructors are often scheduled to teach several consecutive programs each afternoon. This leaves them with a finite amount of time to leave one site and arrive at another. In the event that a parent is late, a fee of $1 per minute, after ten (10) minutes will be assessed. We do understand that occasionally emergencies occur and this fee is not intended to punish people who are victims of chance, unforseen events that are beyond control. If there is an emergency and a parent will be late, you are expected to contact us by phone, immediately, and notify us of the situation so that we may make any necessary arrangements.

Free T-Shirt Distribution Policy

Each student participating in regularly scheduled Lab Ratz Science Club after-school Science Programs, at regular price are entitled one Laboratory T-shirt. Programs paid for by school districts or offered at discounted rates may or may not include T-shirts. Students may receive only one free T-shirt per school year (additional T-shirts may be purchased, however). T-shirts will not necessarily be distributed at the first meeting of the club, but will be distributed prior to the end of the program. All first-time participants for a given school year will receive a shirt. The free T-shirt has no cash value and may not be redeemed for a discount or other merchandise.
