2017-2018 School Schedule

Below is our current schedule of after school programs. This page is updated regularly, as new schools and programs are continuously being added. As always, our lesson topics and activities are different each session and do not repeat, so students who have participated in the past can participate again without doing the same thing twice. The session number listed for each school corresponds to a session in our schedule of topics. You can visit the "Programs" section of this site to see what topics and activities will be presented during the current session at your child's school.
For enrollment information, contact us or your school office. All programs run for 5 weeks unless stated otherwise. Dates listed are the starting date for each club. If you do not see your child's school on the schedule, please give us a call at 412.965.3497 to discuss bringing the Lab Ratz Science Club to your school. And, please, stay posted-more programs will be listed soon!

Cancellation Policy

It is the policy of Lab Ratz Science Inc, that all club sessions cancelled, due to weather related or other unforeseen school closings, be made up at the end of the program. If a club meeting is cancelled the program will continue for an additional week to make up the cancelled session. All cancelled club meetings will be made up by lengthening the duration of the program in this manner.

If you wish to withdraw from a program or if you know in advance that your child will miss a meeting, we can issue a partial refund or reduce the enrollment fee. Refunds can be issued only for the remaining portion of the program. Reduced enrollment fees must be discussed and agreed upon in advance. Refunds and reductions are calculated at a rate of $10 per student per hour. This rate is also applied to adding meetings to programs in excess of the standard 5 meetings.

Dismissal Policy

It is the policy of Lab Ratz Science Inc. that children be dismissed from after-school programs only to a parent or guardian, or other adult. Students will not be permitted by staff members to leave the building hosting the program until an adult has picked them up. Students will not be permitted to meet parents outside unless accompanied by a staff member or supervisor. When picking up children after a program, parents must come in to the building to receive their child/children. Children who are to be picked up by an adult other than their legal parent/guardian should bring a note requesting that they be released to an adult other than their legal parent/guardian. The only exception to this will be made for students who are to walk home and are registered with their school as 'walkers' or who have a note from their legal parent/guardian requesting that they walk home.
Additionally, we are in no way a substitute for child care. Parents are expected to be on time for pick up. Our instructors are often scheduled to teach several consecutive programs each afternoon. This leaves them with a finite amount of time to leave one site and arrive at another. In the event that a parent is late, a fee of $1 per minute, after ten (10) minutes will be assessed. We do understand that occasionally emergencies occur and this fee is not intended to punish people who are victims of chance, unforseen events that are beyond control. If there is an emergency and a parent will be late, you are expected to contact us by phone, immediately, and notify us of the situation so that we may make any necessary arrangements.
